IN THE UK, FLUORIDE IN YOUR WATER IS A POSTCODE LOTTERY.
Only about 10% of England's population — roughly 6 million people — receive fluoridated water. Some get it through local fluoridation schemes; some have it occurring naturally in their groundwater. The other 90% don't. Whether you're one of them comes down almost entirely to where you live.
Schemes run across the West Midlands (Birmingham has been fluoridated since 1964) and much of the North — Tyneside, Northumberland, Durham, Cumbria, Cheshire, Lincolnshire, Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire, Humberside and Bedfordshire — with a confirmed expansion across the North East from 2028. Added fluoride is targeted at 1 mg/L, and the legal maximum allowed in UK drinking water is 1.5 mg/L.
It doesn't stop at your tap, either. Fluoride toothpaste, some bottled waters and certain foods all add to your daily intake. For families with young children — who are the most susceptible to dental fluorosis — that cumulative exposure is worth keeping an eye on.
The TriCera™ Fluoride puts the decision back in your hands — so what's in your glass isn't dictated by your water company or your postcode.
